The neighborhood is located in the southeast corner of Riverside, bordered by the March Joint Powers Authority to the east and south, the Mission Grove Neighborhood to the north, and the unincorporated Woodcrest area in the county to the south and west.

Orangecrest is a relatively new neighborhood, having been annexed into the city in 1986. The neighborhood was developed as a master-planned community, with a mix of residential, commercial, and recreational uses. The majority of homes in Orangecrest are single-family homes. The neighborhood is also home to a number of parks and in close proximity to recreation facilities, including Orange Terrace Community Park, Castle Park, and the March Field Air Museum.
